Wow….. A beer that definitely should have bought me dinner first!
What a challenging but delightful beer this is. Very dark and brewding it looks like a black ale when you pour it, I love black ales! It’s got a really nice citrusy aroma to it and quite refreshing with first sip. Then….. BOOM malt like a semi trailer slamming straight through the back of your throat. It’s a very clever mix of flavours and techniques that works really well together. It promises chocolate and coffee undertones which it delivers in spades. Definitely not a session ale at around 6% however would be a good winter brew in front of the fire knawing on a juicy cattleman’s cut steak or a roast. She’s a slow sipper and I would definitely recommend it though definitely not for a newcomer to the craft scene.
