Atomic Pale Ale from Gage Roads Brewing Co from the other side of the continent! This was one of the first American IPAs that I tried some 10 to 15 years ago (or thereabouts) at what was then my local. Dood behind the bar told me to try it instead of another schooner of Coopers Pale. Back then it was a choice of tooheys, carlton draught or VB so coopers pale was a massive relief, until I had my first Atomic…

It was love at first taste! From then on it was strictly Atomics from Gage Roads. It was therefore with some trepidation that I grabbed one from the bottlo. It was exactly how I remembered it, straight forward, no fuss, perfect example of a good APA. Extremely sessionable it pours a golden orange with some subtle piney notes. It’s a very subtle pale that pairs extremely well with seafood due to its restrained use of hops. Highly recommended, especially for those who are apprehensive about IPAs etc. Good job Gage!
