Wayward ‘Wet Bandit’ (APA) – Camperdown, NSW
There’s been a few fresh hop harvest put out recently to celebrate the green stuff. I hadn’t had the chance to try any this, but Tim got himself along to the Fresh Hop Festival about a month ago and loved it. Fresh hops provide a more subtle experience to the concentrated pellet form used in a lot of brews and it was great to see the difference in this great beer.
Growler from Leura Cellars. Pours deep amber with a small white head. Subtle bread like aromas with roasted almonds, spicy hops and floral notes. Complex malt flavours – bread, caramel, marzipan – however it never becomes too sweet, with moderate bitterness full of citrus flower and spicy hops. Soft carbonation. Such a well made, complex pale ale.
