It’s grand final day for footy and what better way to watch it than with an Akasha Brewing Company Mosaic IPA. Do we cheer for eddie maguires mob who constantly whinges about what Sydney gets or the eagles whose racist fans booed adam goodes because he was aboriginal… probably the pies I guess. Anyways the beer.

Big fan of Dave Padden and his brews right back to his riverside brewing days back in the day where the legendary hopsmith was founded. The hopsmith is my favourite IPA still after all these years. That velvet smooth hopped high abv unapologetically boozy bastard that just keeps on giving. Don’t stop making it Dave, I love it! I mention hopsmith as that is the backbone of this mosaic.

Pours a light orange with a strong frothy head and strong lacing. Strong tropical fruity nose thanks to the mosaic hops. Taste of tropical fruit, slight peach and some melon with a very toned down malt (thank god!) and not really boozy thanks to the mosaic hops which masterfully hide the 7.2% abv. This is a fruity hopsmith, how could you go wrong? Love it, great beer guys.
