The Tasman Tango Session IPA from Batch Brewing in Marrickville on the very special day of the year, Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras here in Sydney. I’m the son of a lesbian so it holds an extra special importance to me. We weren’t always as tolerant as we are now and mum did it really tough back in the day. Anyhoo this is a sessionable IPA from the guys at Batch. I must admit the words session and IPA make me very nervous when used together. Taste and flavour are normally the unfortunate victims in order to lower that abv. I normally session @bentspokebeercrankshaft so I’m probably not normal lol! This is a contest between NZ malts and Aussie Malts which is a very cool concept, hence the tango.
The beer, pours a nice golden orange with a nice thick white and good lacing. Strong lime and stone fruit on the front of the palate with a decent bitter finish. Crisp mouthfeel with some nice citrusy hops in the middle. I would definitely have this again, it’s almost a mid at 4% too. Good work!
