Grimstar Rocks American Pale Ale from @blastabrewingcompany in WA. Another one of the samples generously given to us from the other side of the continent! Blasta is actually gaelic for tasty and delicious which I only discovered recently. Grimster Rocks takes its name from a race horse named after Blasta founder Steven Russell’s brother, who tragically passed away unexpectedly in 2010.
The beer. Poured a nice amber gold with a strong white foamy head with some strong lacing on the glass from a healthy 5.4% ABV. mosaic hops are championed here with strong passionfruit, melon and tropical fruits on the nose. Interesting grain bill gives it a malty mouthfeel without over powering the fruits from the Mosaic hops. Galaxy hops also adds some fruity notes to the brew with a nice lingering bitterness on the back of the throat. Excellent example of the style, very drinkable and thanks again for the sample (and glass!). Support @indiebrewers and vote with your wallets! Tim
