I’ve been saving this one in the cellar for a while now. A collaboration between Victorian brewers Mountain Goat and coffee roasters Seven Seeds, from nearby Carlton. The result? A ‘Seedy Goat’ coffee porter. And what better way to enjoy it with my Dad on his 70th. He loves his coffee and I’m impartial to a porter. Happy birthday Dad. Love you!

Bottle. Almost black, with a frothy off white head which dissipates quickly. Delicious aroma, with a huge, fresh coffee punch, moving into dark cocoa and roasted malt. The fruity Colombian coffee dominates the front palate, followed by moderate roastiness and a touch of cocoa and vanilla. There is very little detectable bitterness, but it’s not sweet, so the hops are working away in the background. Although a touch over-carbonated, it settles down after its been open for a while.
