Old stagers Ballast Point have served up a classic pale ale in the ‘Grunion’, full of punchy hops, a perfect amount of bitterness (50 IBU’s) and enough malt to balance it all out. A result of an employee only home brew competition, it’s widely available in Australia now and will be a regular in my fridge for that after work edge killer!

Can. Pours a classic hazy orange/amber with an off white head. Loads of caramel/biscuit malt aromas, along with light citrus flowers and rockmelon. The caramel/biscuit malts lead from the front and are then taken over by an assertive bitter pine resin and grapefruit middle, and light refreshing tropical fruit and citrusy finish. A full on pale ale as you would expect from Ballast Point. Delicious.
