Picked up this German Märzen from @plonk_cbr on the weekend and thought I’d give it a go today (30 degrees and overcast – it’s perfect lager weather).

Naturally brewed in Orange NSW

Poured out a light clear orange with a decent head which quickly disappeared. I did notice a small amount of sediment stuck to the base of the bottle. The fragrance is of wet barn, washed leather and old spice. The flavour is sweetly malty, a little bit bready, and there’s just a dash of pepper. The palate is short, leaving a thirst quenching dry after-taste. The light carbonation makes this an easy, not-too-complex, beer to throw back.

I’m not a big lager drinker, but this has far more flavour than most, maybe due to the slower cold fermentation process.
