It’s a sledgehammer alright! Coming in at 7.5% ABV this Imperial Pils is no light weight summer throw back. It’s a big beer to be enjoyed on a cooler night (perfect this week as an unseasonably welcome cooler front hit Sydney). Once again Prancing Pony deliver on their catch cry of ‘Long Flavour’. Thanks to Lugarno Cellars for this one.
Relatively clear gold with slightly off white head that laces well. Strong bread malt aromas, followed by gentle floral and citrus notes. Big, boozy but clean bread malt flavours, with a long, dry, moderately bitter yet floral finish. The floral hops cut through the boozy malt richness to create a surprising lightness on the palate. But don’t be fooled. This beer bites! Would be lovely with some creamy cheese.
