Batch ‘Ginu-Pine Pineapple Mosaic Sour’ (Sour Ale) – Marrickville, NSW

An Easter Monday sour outing to Batch saw a couple of tinglers on tap (Pash the Magic Dragon and A Currant State of Infusion) and the Ginu-Pine Pineapple Mosaic Sour as a bomber to take away. Given it’s still 30 degrees mid-Autumn in Sydney, this went down a treat on Tuesday evening after I’d mowed the lawn. Thanks @slybeer for the tip on this one.

Bottle. Pours yellow gold, with a quickly dissipating white head. Pineapple and tropical fruit aromas, with a touch of apple cider vinegar. Mouth puckering sourness up front, full of mouth tingling pineapple, green apple, apple cider vinegar and a quirky, slightly pine bitterness. Creamy lactose lurks beneath as well, turning this into a better, more grown up version of the old Pineapple Splice ice cream. Really enjoyable, interesting beer.
