BrewDog ‘Punk IPA’ (American IPA) – Aberdeen, Scotland

I love my punk rock, so the ethos of BrewDog resonates with me. Plenty of brewers might be pushing the boundaries now, but these guys were one of the first amped up beers I drank, hooking me ever since. A clever blend of hops allow for a British IPA floral and earth base, intertwined with American citrus and pine. A thoroughly punk middle finger salute to the British establishment. Gotta love the Scots!!! Thanks @brewdogau for the samples. They were a welcome addition to the beer fridge!

Can. Quite clear, orangey/amber, with a small but well retained white head. Citrus and floral aromas, along with pineapple, a touch of pine and biscuity malt. Grapefruit, lemon, pineapple and pine flavours with a well integrated biscuit malt and earthy background. Mid level, but long lasting bitterness. An enjoyable IPA that doesn’t suck all the moisture from your mouth through cloying bitterness, but makes you want to have another sip (and can). Just my style.

3.7/5. Trent
