Willie The Boatman’s Tempe Tim Pale Ale. First off let me just say that I’m truly flattered that Pat named a beer after me, the sailing and Tempe reference are a bit unusual but I’m flattered never the less! (🤣) Always a big fan of Willie The Boatman and Pat the founder who you can expect at just about every event with a big smile on his face and a beer in his hand. Well and truly grounded he must be one of the nicest guys in the industry. (Not pissing in his pocket, just a genuinely nice bloke, gotta give credit where it’s due). I remember when my credit card wouldn’t work at the wet hops festival and he insisted on shouting beers well into the night.
Now the beer. Pours a dark orange with a strong white foamy head. Strong malt bill up front which dissipates quite quickly leaving an even bitterness that lingers. Piney hops on the nose but well reserved as is the style for an Aussie pale ale. Quite low abv at 3.5% which puts it close to a mid strength which will appeal to a lot of punters looking for a sensible sessionable (I should trade mark that!). Highly refreshing on a hot muggy day I like it. I like it a lot! Tim
