@balterbrewers are uber popular, dominating all manner of beer lists around the country. Well made, straightforward beers that I’m happy to drink but don’t necessarily go out and buy. Their special releases are a different species though. Still well made, but with added levels of quality and complexity making them some of the best going around and beers I seek out. The Hazy is no different. Their version of a NEIPA, it is probably just a touch lighter and not quite so intense as some, but I like this and think it adds to its overall quality, making it a beautifully balanced and drinkable beer. I want some more please.
Can. Pours a cloudy sunshine yellow, with a soapy, white head and strong lacing. Huge tropical aromas, filled with mango, passionfruit and pineapple, orange and pine backnotes. A fruit salad bomb combining passionfruit, mango, orange, kiwi and stone fruit, all underpinned by moderate pine bitterness to keep it in check. Add a smooth mouthfeel and you get exactly what I think a NEIPA should be – fruity, just enough hop bitterness and smooth without the milkshake like mouthfeel that is becoming popular.
