Fixation Brewing, the hoppy side project of @stoneandwood, The Fix Double IPA from Collingwood in Melbourne where @gabsfestival is in full swing, very jealous @slybeer ……
Fixation Brewing is all about the IPAs showcasing massive hops in all their resinous glory. The Fix is a tribute to mosaic, citra and and simcoe hops and boy do they shine. This sample was extremely generously sent to me by Tom from @fixationbrewing, again thanks very much we appreciate it.
Now the beer, poured a nice golden yellow with a decent frothy head for a double IPA. Strong grain profile of Simpson Marris Otter, Weyermann Premium Pils and Wey CaraMunich 2 doesn’t overpower the hops but does give it a nice mouthfeel with a nice mature aftertaste. Strong aromas of apricot and mango with that awesome piney resin from IPAs. I love IPAs, I really really really love double IPAs! The Fix is fantastic, a perfect example of what a double IPA should be, The booze is perfect at 8.2% but not overly noticeable. More please!
