Kereru Brewing NZ Old Red Oak Ale Special Edition Amber Ale. With a 50 litre brewing facility underneath their house and the sound of wood pigeons (kereru) in their back garden, Kereru Brewing was born. Their next move was to turn a derelict and dusty carpet factory (once Feltex) in Upper Hutt, into a micro-brewery with the capacity to make 1,800 litres of beer. Constantly pushing boundaries with some hard hitting flavours and styles, this is no exception…
Pours a dark amber red with a strong sweet toffee nose (Trent would go nuts for this!) With a strong mocha caramel head with some strong lacing on the glass. On the front palate it’s sweet, and malty, with notes of toffee & stone fruit. Slight subtle bitterness at the back of the throat with the 6% ABV warming the throat nicely. It’s gotta be a bloody good amber to get me excited, this got me excited! Sample supplied by @platinum_liquor thanks Ads 🙂 Tim
